User Guide
The Insights page helps you understand report trends and patterns for an organisation. Use it to spot recurring problems, review category trends, and explore geographic or temporal hotspots.
Common sections:
- Overview metrics: quick totals and high-level trend indicators.
- Charts: trends by time, categories, reporters, and places (heatmaps or sparklines).
- Filters: timeframe, topics/categories, area/location, status (open/closed), and assigned teams.
- Drill-down: click a chart element to filter the reports list to the matching set.
How to use Insights:
- Select a timeframe (last 7 days, 30 days, 12 months) to see recent trends.
- Use topic/category filters to focus on specific kinds of reports.
- Combine area and category filters to discover recurring issues at specific places.
- Export filtered results when you need CSVs for offline analysis.
Tips:
- If a chart shows an unexpected spike, click it to open the list of reports and review examples.
- Use Insights together with Reports and Work to turn trends into actions (create campaigns or work items).

Developer tips:
- Keep dashboard queries efficient — aggregate in the backend where possible to avoid large payloads.
- Use server-side rendering for initial dashboard state so charts are populated on first render.
- Support query parameters to enable permalinks to specific filtered views.
